A love of travel and adventure took us all over the world, but it was in the beauty and community of the open air markets in the far east that we found the inspiration for City Buddha. As entrepreneur's and artist at heart, we saw an opportunity for family and small community businesses to expand their market by creating a unique shopping experience for northeast Ohio.
The first City Buddha opened in 1998 in a small storefront in Euclid, Ohio. It wasn't long before the word got out and City Buddha became the go to place for all things hip and funky. Expanding first to Ohio City, then to its current location on Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights, City Buddha is known for its wide selection of unique silver and beaded jewelry, one of kind clothing, statuary and home goods guaranteed to please and delight even the most budget conscious shopper.
Guided by the principle that artisans and workers should receive a living wage, we have worked to develop good relationships with the home, community and small industries who create City Buddha's offerings. We knows our overseas vendors and have visited their home workshops, so when you buy from City Buddha you can be assured that the goods you purchase were made by workers who are treated fairly and paid a living wage.
Today we remain true to City Buddha's original inspiration. More than just a place to shop, we have created a community gathering place. A place with all the beauty, color and friendliness of an open air market. Come to shop or just to say hello, City Buddha always make you feel welcome.
